His DJ-Carreer began in little steps as a 16 year old gifted young Music freak in a popular Pub. He started to collect all kinds of records and CDs until he gradually had enough together to present his own music and DJ sets. With commercial Party music he gained the chance to harvest his first gage. The piles of records and CDs grew bigger and bigger.

Many years later he had the opportunity to put on his music as an official Trance-DJ at a local club in Switzerland, where he was presented under his new guise Dave Joy. This new job opened many doors to other interesting contacts which gave him the possibilities for other gigs.

In November 2000 he had his first chance to produce an own track with a production team from the French part of Switzerland. His first new born track was named First Impression. Out of a lucky coincidence he happened to meet Marco Reverb Guardia, the mind behind the highly acclaimed Flutlicht Project. (together with Giotto DJ they do their productions for the German Label Overdose under the project name S.H.O.K.K.). This unique remix happened to become a huge hit in clubs all around the world. The track can be found on more than 50 compilations worldwide.

Beginning of 2002 he started to produce the follow-up single with his newly found producers David Kolodziej and Mario Kaufmann. The track called Second Chase has been released in September 02 on Planet Traxx Records. Together with Germany’s Oliver Kaylab Klitzing and Alphazone he again was able to place two famous names as remixers on the record.

At the end of 2003 they separated from Mario Kaufmann and, as in return, welcomed Sandro Oswald (Van de Traxx) as our new team-member aboard. This collaboration started to release several tracks, remixes and projects such as Schattenmann, Emphasysts, Final + Sylas and all the tracks with the name Dave Joy on it and it's still growing.

In between the work with his original studiopartners he also did collaborations with several other artists such as Climax69 from Germany. This resulted in the 2004 released track called Skywalker under the projectname Simplex D.S.N.

Another project called Basic Dawn was born in summer 2003 on the label Difuse from Uk´s late Alpha-Magic Distribution. They signed the track called Pure Thrust and let Italy’s NU-NRG do a stunning remix. This track was written and produced together with Switzerland’s Franky Fonell & Chris Reece and became one of the biggest anthems worldwide in 2003. This collaboration ended after producing two other remixes and will not be continued. Pure Thrust will be re-released though in 2005 on Pulsive Records from Germany.

2004 was the year of the big change in his life. After four years of working in one of the biggest Record shops of Switzerland, Number One Recordshop in Zurich, he decided to move to Australia where he continues to build up his reputation as one of the best hardtrance-DJs.

Begonnen hat die DJ-Karriere mit kleinen Schritten als sechzehnjähriger Musikfreak in einem kleinen Pub. Nach jahrelangem Sammeln (anhäufen) von riesigen Platten- und CD-Bergen, konnte ich endlich meine Musik an die Leute bringen. Mit kommerzieller Partymusik verdiente ich meine ersten Gagen, und der Platten- und CD-Berg wuchs weiter an.

Lange Zeit später erhielt ich erstmals die Chance im Schuetzenhouse in Wangen a.A., als Trance-DJ aufzulegen, unter meinem neuen Pseudonym "DAVE JOY". Die Kontakte, die ich in dieser Zeit knüpfen konnte, eröffneten mir diverse andere Auftrittsmöglichkeiten.

An der Zürcher Streetparade wird seit 2000 ein eigener Stand am Stadelhoferplatz betrieben, an dem nationale wie auch internationale DJ-Kollegen ihre Sets vor einem grossen Puklikum spielen.

Seit Anfang Februar 2001 arbeite ich in einem der grössten DJ-Plattenläden der Schweiz, im Number One Record Shop an der Josefstrasse 26 in Zürich, der sich ganz in der Nähe des Zürcher Hauptbahnhofs befindet. Nationale wie auch internationale DJs decken sich bei uns mit den neusten und heissesten House, Trance, Techno und Progressiv-Platten ein.

November 2000 konnte ich erstmals mit einem Produzententeam aus der Westschweiz einen eigenen Track produzieren, den ich First Impression nannte. Aus einem glücklichen Zufall heraus, lernte ich Marco Reverb Guardia kennen, der in der Zwischenzeit mit seinen Flutlicht- und S.H.O.K.K.-Projekten zu einem der international gefragtesten Produzenten und Remixern gehört. Zusammen mit Giotto DJ zauberten die beiden einen Remix, welcher zum Überraschungshit wurde. Dieser Remix wurde bis jetzt auf über 40 internationale Compilations lizenziert.

Anfang 2002 ging ich mit meinem neuen Produzententeam David Kolodziej und Mario Kaufmann an die Arbeit zur Nachfolgesingle Second Chase, welche September 02 in die Läden kam. Mit Oliver Kaylab Klitzing und Alphazone gelang mir wiederum namhafte Remixer zu verpflichten, die dem Track zwei völlig verschiedene Gesichter gaben.

Im Herbst '03 erschien die dritte Veröffentlichung auf Planet Traxx. Erstmals wurde ein Track auf zwei Vinyls verteilt. Third Pleasure präsentierte Mixe von Überdruck, DJ D-Light, Climax69, DJ Spoke und zwei verschiedene Original Mixe.

Im Sommer 2003 wurde Pure Thrust unter dem Projektnamen Basic Dawn (in Zusammenarbeit mit Franky Fonell & Chris Reece produziert) mit einem exklusiv von NU-NRG produzierten Remix, auf dem englishen Label Difuse für den englischen Markt lizenziert. Diesem Label des englischen Vertriebs Alpha-Magic, welches schon First Impression einen neuen Rmx von Dave202 & Phil Green verpasste, gelang es, den Track in kürzester Zeit in die Playlists sämtlicher Key-DJs zu pushen.

Ende 2003 trennten wir uns von Mario Kaufmann, dafür kam Sandro Oswald (Vandetraxx) in's Team.

Appassionatissimo di musica, all’età di 16 anni ho iniziato la mia carriera da DJ in un piccolo Disco-Pub. Dopo diversi anni, in cui ho accumulato o meglio detto collezionato tantissimi dischi e anche CD, ho potuto finalmente proporre la mia musica al pubblico. Suonando musica commerciale, ho guadagnato i miei primi soldini e la mia collezione di dischi e CD diventò sempre più grande.

Dopo diverso tempo, il Schützenhouse di Wangen a.A. mi diede la mia prima possibilità, di fare musica da Trance DJ e cioè, con il mio nome d’artista “Dave Joy”. In quel periodo feci molte conoscenze, che mi aiutarono ad avere altri ingaggi come DJ.

A partire dal 2000, ogni anno alla Streetparade di Zurigo, gestiamo un nostro stand al Stadelhoferplatz, dove diamo la possibilità a DJ nazionali e internazionali, di suonare la loro musica davanti ad un pubblico grande.

Dal febbraio 2001, lavoro in uno dei più grandi DJ Store della Svizzera e cioè il Number One Recordstore alla Josefstrasse 26 a Zurigo. Il negozio si trova vicino alla stazione principale dei treni. DJ nazionali e anche internazionali, vengono spesso da noi, per acquistare le ultime uscite nei vari settori come la House / Trance / Techno e Progressiva.

Nel novembre del 2000, ho prodotto in collaborazione con un team della Svizzera francese il mio primo disco, intitolato First Impression. Per puro caso, ho conosciuto Marco Reverb Guardia, che nel frattempo con i suoi progetti Flutlicht e S.H.O.K.K., è diventato uno dei produttori e remixer più richiesti al mondo. Marco e Giotto DJ se ne incaricarono di fare un remix del First Impression, il quale diventò un HIT internazionale. Fino adesso è stato licenziato su più di 40 Compilations internazionali.

Agli inizi del 2002, il mio nuovo team di produttori ed io, composto da David Kolodziej e Mario Kaufmann, ci siamo messi al lavoro per il disco successore, intitolato Second Chase, il quale nel settembre del 2002 entrò in commercio. Con Oliver Kaylab Klitzing e Alphazone ingaggiammo dei remixer molto renomati, i quali diedero 2 faccettature completamente diverse alla traccia.

In questo momento stiamo lavorando al nostro terzo brano, che dovrebbe uscire nel autunno’03 sul etichetta Planet Traxx. What’s it gonna be? “Third ..”

Momentaneamente stiamo anche preparando un nuovo progetto, per la comunità del trance. Con il nome Basic Dawn, sforneremo una traccia sulla nostra futura etichetta di casa (Thrust Groove Records), con dei remix di “Pale-X”, “Jon the Dentist” e me stesso come Dave Joy. Inoltre, il brano (con un remix esclusivo di Nu-NRG) è stato licenziato per il mercato inglese dalla Difuse Records, etichetta appartenente alla casa di distribuzione Alpha-Magic, la quale aveva rilanciato il brano First Impression con un nuovo remix di Dave 202 & Phil Green. Il release di Basic Dawn, nato in co-operazione con Franky Fonell & Chris Reece, attualmente solo disponibile como promo, viene suonato e sostenuto da tutti i DJ più famosi.

Fine 2003 ci siamo divisi da Mario Kaufmann, a rimpiazarlo è venuto Sandro Oswald (Vandetraxx) nel nostro Team.

Ma carrière de DJ a commence a l’âge de 16 ans comme une lubie dans un pub populaire. J’ai commencé à collectionner des albums et des CD jusqu'à en obtenir suffisamment pour présenter ma propre collection musicale et mon DJ set. Avec les soirées commerciales, j’ai eu la chance d’avoir mon premier contrat. Les piles d’enregistrements et de CD on grandit de plus en plus.

Quelques années plus tard j’ai eu l’opportunité de jouer ma musique comme le DJ trance officiel d’un club local en suisse, où j’ai été présenté sous mon nouveau pseudo «Dave Joy ». Ce nouveau job m’a ouvert de nombreuse porte vers des contacts intéressant me donnant la possibilité pour d’autres représentations.

Depuis l’an 2000 j’organise une exhibition à la très connut Street Parade à Zurich, où des amis locaux et des DJ étrangers peuvent se produire devant un plus grand publique.

Depuis le début de février 2001 j’ai travaillé dans un des plus grand studio d’enregistrement de DJ en suisse Number One Record store à Zurich. Les DJ locaux aussi bien que les étrangers venait se fournir avec les tout nouveau et les plus chauds enregistrements de house, trance, techno, progressive et hardcore.

En novembre 2001 j’ai eu la chance de réaliser mon premier titre avec une équipe de production venant de suisse française. Mon premier titre s’appelle First impression. Heureuse coïncidence j’ai put rencontrer Marco Reverb Guardia, l’esprit cache derrière le célèbre projet Flutlicht. (Lui et DJ Giotto se produisent pour le label allemand Overdose sous le nom de code S.H.O.K.K.). Cette unique remix a commence à devenir un hit dans tous les clubs de la planete. On peut le retrouver dans plus de 40 compile à travers le monde.

Début 2002 j’ai débuté la production d’un single avec mes nouveaux producteurs David Kolodziej et Mario Kaufmann. Le titre Second Chase a été disponible en septembre 2002 sur Planet Traxx Records. Avec les Allemands Oliver Kaylab Klitzing et Alphazone j’ai encore put placer deux noms célèbre sur l’enregistrement.

Un tout nouveau projet est maintenant en route dans la communauté trance. Sous le nom de code Basic Dawn. Je vais réaliser un album avec des mixes provenant de hollande de Pale-X et d’Angleterre de Jon the Dentist aussi bien que de mes propre remix sous notre propre label Thrust Groove Records. Les Anglais de Alpha-Magic Distribution qui reproduise first impression avec un nouveau remix de Dave202 & Phil Green sous le label Difuse, ont signe ce titre et laisse l’Italien NU-NRG faire un superbe remix, qui est toujours joue par les principaux DJ. Ce titre est écrit et produit ensemble avec les Suisses Franky Fonell & Chris Reece.
